Medicine, surgery & everything else — illustrated by Rachel Huynh, MS4 @ UCSF
My name is Rachel Huynh. I am a fourth-year medical student, Army Officer, marathoner (crawling out of retirement lol), and artíst!
I am just here to share my art. I figured inserting a silly Google Drive link on my resumé isn't the best look. So a mediocre website it is :^)
My stickers in the UCSF gift shop!
Ah yes, it's me. Peddling my stickers for mere pennies! #medstudlyfe Wouldn't have it any other way :)
People ask me if they can buy my stickers. The answer is usually no, because I will seriously just give you some! I initially sold stickers to my medical school class, and many of my classmates so graciously bought a few!
I tried to sell on Etsy and RedBubble, which both failed lol. They failed because (1) I'm a terrible businessperson lol (money is overrated*) and (2) many of my stickers are "oddly" specific or personal to my community. Instead, I have found much success and joy in giving my stickers out to patients and family members, to my preceptors and residents, to friends and friends-to-be. The most important and meaningful things in life are free. If you own a piece of art from me, know that you have made a great impact on me and/or a community that means a lot to me!
*jkjk - I'm coping
P.S. - Note that I have taken and continue to take commissions for illustrations and custom designs. When I'm talking about "free," I'm primarily talking about stickers or holiday cards I make for fun to just to share with people, which is like 95% of the time.
P.P.S - I'm just contradicting myself all over the place lol, but I have sold stickers to the UCSF gift shop, as well as during UCSF craft fairs :)
